Baptisms

Baptism is the official entry into the Christian faith and one of the two sacraments of the Lutheran Church.  It is based on the promise of Christ as shared in the Gospels Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16, and the practice of the early church: Acts 3:38 & 41; 1 Corinthians 12:13.  Baptism is open for anyone of any age from birth to death.  As adults it is in response to the invitation of faith in Christ, for children and infants it is in response to the faith of the family and community.  Baptism occurs normally during worship at St. Peter’s and usually follows a planning session for this blessed event.

Funerals

As someone dies it is important for family, friends, and community to hear words of resurrection hope for their loved one as well as themselves.  We offer a service of resurrection hope that is filled with prayer, words of Scripture, and words of hope from Pastor Phil.  This service can be held in a variety of contexts – at St. Peter’s, in a funeral home or chapel, at a cemetery, or other location.  One does not have to be a member of St. Peter’s to receive this service.

Weddings

Weddings are a time of joy for a couple that, in their love for each other, wish to commit themselves to each other in life long fidelity.  The preparations for the wedding service are also preparations for married life after the ceremony is completed.  It usually involves 3-4 sessions prior to the wedding to work on the wedding preparations and help prepare the couple for their life together.  One does not have to be a member of St. Peter’s to receive this service.
